Our editorial methodology

Contractor of Record publishes independent reviews and comparisons of EOR, Contractor of Record, contractor management, contractor payout and global payroll platforms. This page explains exactly how we research and score them.

How we evaluate

We assess each platform through structured analysis of its public product pages, pricing pages and documentation, combined with verified user sentiment aggregated from third-party review sites — G2, Capterra and Trustpilot. Every factual data point on a provider page carries its source and the date we checked it.

What we do not do

We do not claim to hands-on test-drive every platform across every country. Where a figure comes from a vendor's own marketing or a third-party source rather than something we independently verified, we label it and link the source so you can judge it yourself.

How our editorial score works

Our editorial score (out of 10) reflects our overall assessment of how well a platform serves its category. It is our opinion, informed by the facts above — not a vendor-supplied rating. Scores are versioned (methodology v1) so changes over time stay traceable.

AI snapshots are separate

Where we show what AI assistants say about a platform, those snapshots are point-in-time and clearly dated. They never influence our editorial score.

Who reviews every page

Every page on this site is reviewed before publication by Aleksandra Popova, our founder and editor — an ex-KPMG audit senior consultant with eight years in IFRS financial reporting. Pages covering tax, worker classification and country-specific rules additionally carry a "Reviewed by" mark. A research team assists with data collection; nothing ships without her sign-off.

Independence, corrections & money

Our editorial judgements are made independently. If we add affiliate links or sponsorships, we will disclose them clearly. Spotted something wrong? Tell us via our contacts page and we'll review and correct it.
